Best Wings on Long Island

by Best Of Long Island on December 23, 2010

Chickens don’t fly, they fry. But without their wings, where would we be? A great wing may not be Buffalo but it’s got to be crispy and sensational to take our taste buds for a ride. We bring you this year’s winners for Best Wings on Long Island.

Long Islanders Voted Just Wing It in Long Beach Best Wings on Long Island!

Margaret and Christine’s Lounge wasn’t serving their wings when this contest was in full swing, but stop in to try some of their wings so you can vote fairly next year… the rest of those wing places are just children playing in the kitchen ;-)

Long Island Press should really Advertise this contest properly. These are not the best wings on Long Island, they are the most popular places to go. These places win a popularity contest, not best wings. In order to really find out who has the best wings, or any other product/service on long island a taste test by judges should be used. This is just an advertising gimic.

An example, croxley’s has been at the top of this list for a few years now. They sell 10 cent wings on certain days. There beer selection matched with the price of wings is hard to beat (I go myself sometimes). This doesn’t mean they have the best wings.

I completely agree with Jason on the popularity thing. I used to go to Croxleys weekly but have stopped altogether when they stopped the buybacks and raised the price of a beer. Wings are decent but nothing to write home about. And no, you cannot beat the 10 cent thing.
I also tried Just Wing It several times. Better than Croxleys but you can’t sit and watch the game with a beer there. That just makes it a take-out for me and hence why I so rarely go there.
As a self professed wing guy, my hands down favorite is at the Northport location of Changing Times. I’ve no idea how they make them but OH MY GOD! Flavor you cannot beat.
