I formerly worked for the Humane Society of Davie, FL & I was in the office to see to it that animals were taken care of when people didn’t want the animals. They offered me $1.00 & I told them that we needed $5.00 to make sure the animals got the proper food & taken care of. I used to go to all the supermarkets to get canned goods & donations for the Humane Society. They were so pleased with my work that they wanted to make me a Supervisor, but I only was a Volunteer. I also donated to Doris Day for help with the animals so they didn’t get their bodies scalped. I am also a Volunteer for the National Wildlife as they called me a Champion & also I was in the VOICE to protect the Polar Bears.
I am honored & proud to be a Volunteer at Little Shelter. It is the best!!
well deserved
We are having a very bad time with a cat adopted from Little Shelter. We had to wait several weeks to get her and were told she had gingivitis. She has had diarhea ever since we brought her home, and has been diagnosed as having IBS by our vet. It has cost us more than we can afford in veterinary bills and in emotional sadness, as we have gotten used to her and don’t want to give her back, but she is ill and soiling all over the house, a bad situation especially as we have new baby.
