The LICP got its start in 1996 and has worked to increase the awareness of photography on Long Island. Under the work of Oyster Bay artist, Horst P Horst, its first symposium on photography and related media opened in 1998 as well as its exhibition at the Nassau County Museum of Fine Art.

Les Bons Amis is the compilation of the art of many unique, Long Island artists.
