It’s hard to find the perfect match. There are so many dating services you could try, but how do you know you aren’t going to end up with someone who belongs on Jersey Shore…or America’s Most Wanted. You don’t. But you can go on the recommendations of Long Islanders like yourself who’ve been there, done that.

These days, time is a hot commodity. Between work, Facebook and reality TV, who has time for romance? That’s why the thoughtful folks at Weekenddating.com have designed a dating regimen that even President Obama could squeeze into his busy life (if not for the First Lady, that is). Not only does their dating schedule fall solely on weekends, but it hinges upon speed dates, which allow the single guy or gal to optimize their potential-significant-other-to-time ratio. And unlike other dating groups who are based solely online or rely on awkward bar meet-ups, Weekenddating.com hosts dates at places you would actually want to go to, like fellow Best of L.I. winner Nassau County Museum of Art.

Dear Long Island Press,
I would like to thank you for having a Best of Long Island for all the different companies on Long Island. I joined Maureen Tara Nelson Private Matchmaking based upon your results and it changed my life forever. For years I have been dating men from the Internet who were only interested in sex. Maureen’s program is strictly for people commitment minded. She also does a felony background check on all her clients. She shows photos to all her clients, which other programs do not do, and she even has parties in two of her programs. My first party I was very nervous, but Maureen and her whole staff of Matchmaking assistants instantly made me feel confortable. The men were all very nice and complimentary to me, which increased my self-esteem greatly. My third match was “the one” and we are planning a wedding in December. I took all of Maureen’s dating advice, and I thank her for “really caring” and I thank You, for introducing me to this kind Matchmaker!
I gave up on conventional dating and went to a professional long island matchmaker. Date Doctors is a top personal matchmaking service in the Long Island and NYC area. They take pride in their skill, discretion, and dedication to helping singles find love. Worked for me!
this company has already gone out of business. When looking for a matchmaker, you really need to find one that has experience. They are not even full time matchmakers, they do this as a hobby. I decided not to invest in a company that is just doing this for fun, and good thing I didn’t, since they are already gone…

Kathy, FYI – Datedoctors.com has merged with allurematching.com They are not out of business, nor are the employees doing it as a “hobby”. You’ve been misinformed ms. Skull.
Getting facts straight would be job 1!

Nice to see longislandpersonals.com get a mention. The site is not as busy as the big guys but at least you know you are dealing with real locals who actually reply to you!

Dear Paul,
Do you know why datedoctors merged with allure Matchmaking? I asked them directly how long they’ve been matchmaking for. They have only less than a year of Matchmaking experience. Maybe you feel comfortable with that, but I don’t.
Why do you sound angry about this? If you ask them how long they’ve been in business, they will tell you the truth as they did with me. I was simply saying that there is no longer a dating doctor co. out there. Experience is very important if and when someone is looking for a matchmaker or any other type of service. Hopefully we can put this to rest. I went to this company to join and decided not to for many different reasons!!!
