Best Camp on Long Island

by Best Of Long Island on January 5, 2010

We grew up on Long Island, and every time our parents asked if we wanted to go to camp we grabbed the strongest, sturdiest object in the vicinity, held on for dear life and screamed NOOOOOOO!!!! But back then, in the days before the Internet, cell phones, plasma TV’s, iPods, running water and all that jazz, camp was a little different. It involved hitting rocks with tree branches and playing tag. Today, however, it’s a completely different story.

Long Islanders Voted Driftwood Day Camp in Melville Best Camp on Long Island!

Driftwood Day Camp

“Do you want to go to camp?” Bad question. Now, if our parents had asked us if we’d like to spend the summer shooting arrows, riding go-karts, sliding into the pool, canoeing, flying on the trapeze, climbing rock walls and playing with snakes, they would have only seen a blur and a 3-foot hole through the front door. This is not a day camp. It’s an adventure. The only bad thing we have to say about this place is they won’t let 28-year-olds attend.
