10 Woods Corner Rd.
2811 Middle Country Rd.
This four-time winner, far from the great Indian food centers of Nassau County, provides an upscale experience in the hinterlands of Suffolk that includes cuisine from various regions (including hard-to-find specialties like dosas) as well as many vegetarian choices. The newer Lake Grove outpost has an interesting fusion menu that melds Asian and some French ingredients. The Velvet Lounge in East Setauket is a popular spot for happy hour and post-dinner dancing.

This restaurant’s food bursts with flavors. There are complimentary freshly made appetizers of Tandoori meats, chicken and lamb; mustard-seed spiced potatoes wrapped in crepes, and a rolling pasta cart with freshly made noodles and tomato sauce (spiced with cilantro and paprika).
