What could possibly be more exhilarating than jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet? Jumping out of a plane at 13,500 feet, of course! And Skydive Long Island is the only place on LI that flies two miles into the air. The gravity-defying folks offer all sorts of training packages and tandem jumps on your way to being a certified sky diver. They operate out of what used to be a site for Grumman, with a 10,000-foot runway and five-acre plot of land.

Island Rides was founded in 2004 by local riders. Island Riders are a full service kite boarding, surfing and wakeboarding school and are very dedicated to teaching their sports. Their riders strive to have more up-and-coming riders in the future. Island Riders takes pride in community involvement with local environmental groups to keep our local beaches clean. Every teacher at Island Riders is trained in the extreme sport they teach and at number two this year, they are the extreme.
