Ah, Long Island. So much to see, so much to write about. There’s mystery, inspiring scenery and a long history around every corner. But it takes a special kind of talent from a special kind of Long Islander, to transform all of that to the written word. With that in mind, we bring you this year’s winners for Best Long Island Author!
Long Islanders Voted Nelson DeMille Best Long Island Author!
1 Nelson DeMille
It’s no surprise that Long Island’s most prolific modern novelist made it to the top of this list. Having such cache beyond the region is no easy feat in the literature world these days. But his frequent reliance on local inspirations for such thrillers as “Plum Island,” “Gold Coast” and “Night Fall” has cemented his reputation as a hometown hero. After “The General’s Daughter” was made into a 1999 movie, we’re rooting a repeat.
