To be honest, sending a student to Catholic school on Long Island isn’t exactly affordable. Although a faith-based private school will never be second-rate, for those who insist their children have such an education, only the Best Catholic School will do. We bring you this year’s winners for Best Catholic School on Long Island.
Long Islanders Voted St. John The Baptist Diocesan Memorial High School Best Catholic School on Long Island!
1. St. John the Baptist Diocesan Memorial High School
1170 Montauk Hwy., West Islip. 631-587-8000. www.stjohnthebaptistdhs.net
Its principal describes St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School as “a caring place where academics, athletics, culture, and spirit come together. More than simply a school, St. John’s is a community in which all students are equally welcomed, encouraged, respected and nurtured.” Characterized by a rigorous academic curriculum with a strong emphasis on hard work, integrity and discipline, Long Island voters seem to agree.
2. Holy Trinity High School
98 Cherry Lane, Hicksville. 516-433-2900. holytrinityhs.echalk.com
3. Our Lady of Mercy

that really makes me laugh…CHAMINADE MUCH?
What an arrogant comment!
No, but seriously. Chaminade is better than St. John the Baptist… and every diocesan high school for that matter.
Fantastic school and faculty that Holy Trinity!
Fantastic school and faculty that Holy Trinity! Congratulations!
HAHA Holytrinity! Wheres Chaminade at?
is this a fucking joke?
This top two list is laughable. Holy Trinity shouldn’t even be in the top 5! There are public schools that are academically better than that school. St. John The Baptists, really? Where is Chaminade and Holy Cross? Both schools are superior academically and athletically compared to those two schools on your list. Go look up the colleges that Chaminade and Holy Cross graduates attend compared to these two schools in your list. This list is a joke. Please provide a more realistic and valid list, not a biased one.
I think they meant “bottom three”
Revision:
1. Chaminade (pretty much a prep school)
2. St. Tony’s
3. OLMA
4. Kellenberg
5. Holy Trinity
6. SJB
7. St. Dominics
When it comes to athletics, overall no one really competes with two schools on Long Island- St. Ants and CHS.Academics- there is a reason we are emempt from regents. Community- Chaminade isnt exactly the most welcoming place, it is elitist and has its fair share of jerks and snobs, but what school doesnt have that same problem. When it comes down to it, every other student is willing to help another one out, because it was something you needed to do. Chaminade is the best school on Long Island. We would never go through it again, but we were glad for the experience it gave us. To not even have Chaminade even in the top three is absurd. But what does my opinion matter?
Holy Trinity.. what ??
Revised :
1.Chaminade High School
2.Kellenberg Memorial High School
3.St.Anthony’s High School
These are actually the best!!! Holy Trinity..WOW??? BTW,this is ranked based on votes..NOT the schools stats.
SJB is clearly the best catholic school on Long Island
This is a joke….. Chaminade and Kellenberg should be the top two schools… Athletically, academically, and overall atomospherically.
1. Chaminade
