Best Bagels on Long Island

by Best Of Long Island on January 9, 2012

Anyone who has left the island for a substantial amount of time knows the best place to get a bagel is Long Island. Here, where people love their bagels, the choices are endless and the competition is beyond fierce. Here are this year’s winners of Best Bagels on Long Island.

Long Islanders Voted Bagel Boss Best Bagels on Long Island!

1. Bagel Boss

Multiple Locations. www.bagelboss.com

Made with only the freshest ingredients, the dough soft and inviting, hot out of the oven and begging for butter or cream cheese, Bagel Boss’ several locations across the Island have become institutions of bagel euphoria. With more than 50 years of experience preparing only the best—and offering much more than just bagels—it’s no wonder Bagel Boss has remained at the top of voters’ lists for years now.

2. A&S Bagels

761 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square. 516-326-9288. www.aandsbagels.com

This wholesale and retail bagel bakery is a local celebrity of sorts. They have been featured on CBS, Howard Stern, Z-100 and Fox. And bagels aren’t their only specialty. A&S also offers bialys, rolls, danish, muffins and more.

3. Blvd Bagels

145 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset. 631-979-2583. www.blvdbagels.com

Blvd Bagels are kettle boiled and baked on premises, giving customers a true breakfast delight. The eatery is also well known for its fast, friendly service and competitive prices.

I JUST THINK THAT ITS NOT FAIR THAT SINGLE BAGEL STORES COPITE WITH MULTIPLE LOCATIONS BAGEL STORES .IT SHOULD BE A CATEGORY FOR MULTIPLE LOCATIONS AND ONE FOR SINGLE STORE

I must say…I agree with Raquel. How can a privately owned bagel store compete with a chain? It’s like a single burger shack in Central Islip competing against every McDonalds on Long Island. I really do not see the fairness in this scenario.

Bagel Boss over A&S? What is this world coming to. You can’t be serious with this list. Like others have said it’s a chain so the reach is larger. Anyone who tries both will tell you 9 times out of 10 A&S is better.

Gold&Meyers deli will be taking this title for 2013, the first time we run. Come down to 1036 Old Country Road in Plainview to taste the future LI’s best bagels, thank you.
