Best Chinese Take-Out on Long Island

by Best Of Long Island on January 9, 2012

Sometimes you just need to fulfill your hunger for that stack of sesame chicken, that pint of fried rice and those heaps of steamed dumplings. You crave them, want them, you need them, now. With so many Chinese take-out joints across Long Island, everyone thinks they know where the best Chinese take-out can be found. At least now we know who the Best Chinese Take-out on Long Island truly is. Here are this year’s winners for Best Chinese Take-out on Long Island.

Long Islanders Voted Hunan Dynasty in Levittown Best Chinese Take-Out on Long Island!

1. Hunan Dynasty

2993 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown. 516-731-0300.

This is the fifth year in a row Hunan Dynasty has been voted the best on Long Island for Chinese take-out, transforming the restaurant’s veritable dynasty into an empire. And there is no wonder why. From Cantonese and Hunan specialties to its mouth-watering sushi and extended lunch hours, Hunan Dynasty has become the lunch break spot for quality Chinese food.

2. Jen’s Chinese Food & Catering

1336 Hicksville Rd., Massapequa. 516-541-6148. www.jenschinesefood.com

Just go to the website for Jen’s Chinese Food and stare. The shrimp and cashew nuts is a masterpiece. Jen’s also takes online orders and has a downloadable full authentic Chinese menu. Tasty made easy.

3. The Orient

623 Hicksville Rd., Bethpage. 516-822-1010. www.theorientonline.com

The Orient has been closed for renovations, but is certainly still in the minds of our Best of Long Island voters. We can only imagine that the new restaurant will be even better than it was, and we won’t be surprised if this dining establishment moves up a spot or two on next year’s list.

Jade King in Roslyn on Willis is on a par with Imperial Wok and Lotus East, never reviewed anywhere but just ask anyone from the area. I would never get takeout from anything but a restaurant, the kitchens tend to be dirty.

Best Chinese take out i’ve eaten at on LI, was when I lived in Bayshore, this spot Jade Kitchen on Bayshore rd. A good Chinese takeout spot is hard to come by around these parts, but Jade Kitchen fits the bill. The food is actually light, they don’t drown the chicken, or the ribs in sauce, so that you’re left with a container of greasy, soggy, fried rice, like 100% of Chinese restaurants do to you out here. I would say, if you’re not eating at Jade kitchen, I would completely avoid Long Island Chinese take out all together.
