One of Washington and LI’s most recognizable and outspoken politicians, it stands to reason that Rep. Peter King was named the Best Republican on Long Island: King serves as the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, and his 2011 hearings on the radicalization of Muslim Americans drew criticism and praise internationally. A longtime resident of Seaford, King is Long Islander through and through, and began his political ascent right here, serving for more than a decade as the Nassau County Comptroller and prior to that as a member of the Hempstead Town Council. At heart, he is a champion of the Long Island and an American ideal.

Peter King has tirelessly stood up for conservative values year after year.
Steve, we know that you have been accused of not doing things right financially and are no longer running for County Exec. We still thank you for representing us and being the ONLY politician to tackle illegal immigration DESPITE being called racist, etc by Newsday. You have made me believe once again that an elected official can represent people. Don’t stop serving your community, we need you!!!!
