Best of Long Island Nomination Process The nomination process to enter a person or business in the annual Best Of Long Island competition is simple. The first step to be included in the running is to submit a nomination at www.longislandpress.com and clicking on the Best of LI link, which will take you to our official survey. Nominations will be accepted between July 1 and Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m. The nomination is open to everyone with Internet access. You can nominate your favorite company or your own company. You may nominate as many businesses as you would like as many times as you would like- there is no limit! You may place a single business, organization, individual or participant in multiple categories as long as they apply. (The program management reserves the right to make any final decisions on eligibility.) By the end of the nomination process, the nominees are honed down to the winners of the previous years poll who are automatically nominated again so that they could defend their titles against the top finalists in each category. The top 15-18 nominees advance to the voters round and the voting begins Oct. 1.
